Week 4

While my program in Fez lasted for 6 weeks, I wrote a reflection only for 4 of them. I remember that by Week 4 I was going through it. I had started to feel the "study" in "study abroad," feeling the homework piling up and struggling to balance my experiences with my work.

Of course, I had to get back on track. By the 5th week, I was easing up on the outside travel and coming home earlier to do homework. But Week 4 by far had some of my favorite experiences which I will never forget.

We travelled to Chefchaouen followed by Akchour. I have always been a nature tourist and was very excited for Akchour, which did not disappoint. I felt more at ease in Chefchaouen being able to use my Spanish more often and comforted by the baby blues and deep hues of the city. During our tour, we learned Calvin Klein had actually held a photoshoot there, albeit early in the morning to not *disturb* the residents, who are still very modest. Our tour guide was very funny, and when I decided to go back to visit on Friday, Eid, I ran into him again! He was actually on another tour at the moment, and his face of realization was priceless. He was very friendly and said any time I needed a guide there, he'd be available.
